women in the front room project

This project involves a linked series of conceptual installations by five different women artists in our independent artist-led space the front room which is attached to the salt gallery in Hayle, Cornwall. Each installation will be shown for two months. The front room of a house connects the domestic space with the public space and is used for symbolic events - the five artists' plans reflect these concerns. We have chosen female installation artists because connecting the public and private is often a key facet of women's lives and their work reflects this.
