Landscapes of Memory

"During the past two or three decades an new emotional expressionism has begun
to mark our public spaces. The increased visibility and longevity of these Œshrines‚suggests an unwillingness to move on and a loss of faith in all but the present.
The shrines in these „landscapes of memory „ refer to collective memory and
history. They also evoke those psychological landscapes we inhabit, but in a form that transforms, transcends and personalises the commonplace nature of their sources."
