Delan Cookson

 

Delan has been concerned with designing and making fine pots and bowls to act as a focal point in a domestic interior. His aim is to produce a satisfying balanced finely crafted form, the whiteness of the clay gives added brilliance to his coloured glazes. Delan has exhibited widely and his work is held in many collections throughout the UK and abroad, he makes individual bottles and bowls in porcelain. He is mainly concerned with exploring thrown and turned forms, discovering endless variations on his chosen themes. Some are achieved by joining more than one section together. He has been potting full time since 1989 after twenty-eight years of lecturing in ceramics. Delan is a Fellow of the Ceramic Potters Association.
