Ben Cook
Ben had a sell out show at the Lowry Gallery Salford and has shown at the Whitworth Manchester and the Mappin in Sheffield.
His Found Paintings which very much came out of living and working in what once was a great Industrial centre for textiles will be showing at the salt gallery Hayle from June10th for one month.

“My recent work is called found paintings, these are printed textiles re-presented as paintings. The fabric was discarded during manufacturing due to faults in the printing process. I have re-appropriated these flaws as abstract marks, gestures and shapes using the visual language of abstract painting. The work attempts to question the definition of painting and suggests possible ways to expand the vocabulary of contemporary abstraction”.
